BIKE? HIKE? DO BOTH.
Bike, Climb, Guide, Explore. For those who ride and hike, hike and ride, or simply find themselves going off the beaten path, Specialized created the Rime Flat.
Riding in the backcountry, in alpine terrain, in the deep desert, and other out-of-the-way spaces inevitably means occasionally hiking. This isn’t unexpected. In fact, it’s all part of the plan. Beginning with a foundation of Body Geometry, Specialized made the Rime Flat to fit your route—their first riding shoe specifically designed with hiking in mind. Its special SlipNotTM ST rubber sole—ST for super tacky—strikes the perfect balance between flat pedal riding grip and stiffness. Plus, it delivers all-day walking performance, so no matter where the trail takes you, the Rime Flat will get you there.
RIME FLAT IS BODY GEOMETRY FIRST
Ergonomically Designed, Scientifically Tested. Body Geometry shoes are the key to more comfort, less injuries, and higher power output. Specialized’s Longitudinal Arch, Varus Wedge, and personalized insoles align the hip, foot, and knee, while also limiting medial/lateral knee movement and maintaining good circulation down to your toes.
PROTECT YOUR TOES
Foot protection on any ride is important, but when an adventure heads off into the unknown, keeping our riders’ toes safe is paramount. The Rime Flat features an injected- molded toe box to help protect against unforeseen obstacles when climbing the loose rocks of a scree field or descending overgrown trails deep in the backcountry. We don’t expect an adventure to be easy but it doesn’t have to hurt either.
A FRESH LOOK PACKED WITH TECH
As the first Specialized shoe designed to hike as well as it bikes, they crafted a shoe that combines an approach shoe aesthetic with colors and blocking that give a nod to the bold and bright adventure to come. Whether taking week-long trips in the backcountry, short afternoon outings to the local trails, or kicking it at your favorite coffee spot, the Rime Flat is never out of place.
